Set The Scene - Half Day Coaching Session
For coaches, therapists and trainers.
When you’re just beginning with creating video, the first step is often the most challenging. Months or years can be spent on trial and error and frustrating experiments.
So, this 3-hour in-person coaching session + recording space set-up at your home/office will help you fast track your progress and feel confident in both the technical and on-camera side of things.
We’ll usually start by optimising your space, your background, lighting and camera angles. Using the kit you already have (along with some I’ll introduce you to on the day), I’ll recommend a filming process that works for you and that can easily fit into your week.
I’ll take you through a simple physical and vocal warm-up, and then we’ll record some short "test clips" before reviewing them together. I’ll give some tips for additional takes and for building on-camera confidence.
After the session, I’ll send you a personalised PDF list with hardware or software upgrade suggestions, specific to your goals.

How I can help
Whether you’d like to make videos for your clients in between sessions, start a YouTube channel, create a one-off workshop or a full blown online course…
I’m a filmmaker
On the tech side, I teach you how to film yourself, set the scene, light your space, edit and publish using simple methods for all budgets, as well as tips on software and hardware.
I’m an actor
I use my acting training and professional experience in front of the camera to help you effectively deliver your content, in your unique voice.
I’m a certified coach
As a coach, I can help you work through what might be holding you back, build confidence and get yourself and your business out there.
Areas of focus
I’ve broken down what goes into making video for your helping business into 5 key areas:
Camera Confidence, Story & Audience, Filming & Broadcast, Editing & Publishing, Software & Hardware.
I call it the Video Confidence Wheel, a twist on the classic Wheel of Life. Just like the Wheel of Life, we’re not so much looking to master each area, but understand where you’re currently at with them so you can achieve a balance that works for you.
When you feel confident enough in each area, you can take ownership of the process; making it quick, easy and repeatable so you can spend more time working with your clients.
FAQs
-
I blend my experience of being a BAFTA-nominated filmmaker, trained actor and holistic performance coach to offer a multifaceted service and whole-person approach. I teach you how to make high-quality video and how to be more authentic on camera, but also how to channel your skills as a helping practitioner into your videos.
-
I specialise in working with these individuals because it’s an area I know well and have lived myself. However, creating authentic video is a skill that can be applied to any service-based business. If Holistic Video Confidence speaks to you, please get in touch.
-
Yes, I offer a 20-minute free consultation via Zoom.
-
The consultation is an opportunity for you to ask any questions about the process and to share your goals for how you’d like to use video in your business. It’s also to help us see if we’d be a good fit to work together.
It is not a sales call and I never pressure you into making any decisions. That’s not my style.
-
All coaching sessions and plans are made bespoke to you. So if you’re already confident on camera but would like to improve on the tech side (or vice versa) the sessions can focus on this.
The Connect programme is designed to support you with the whole video making process and all five areas of video confidence. However, if there are two or three areas you’d like to particularly focus on, for example on-camera confidence, scripting and filming yourself, we can base our sessions, exercises and feedback videos around those.
I also offer coaching on specific areas, for example how to set-up a podcast-style video testimonial session with your happy clients.
-
Set the Scene is a one-off, half-day coaching session (see services section), perfect for people at the start of the process but can also be used when you’d like to ‘level-up’ your videos.
Or, my Camera Confidence Starter Pack has been designed to offer you a first step to supportive guidance and video confidence feedback.
Please get in touch for more information.
-
Certainly, payment instalment options are available. Please enquire when booking.
-
The “Set the Scene” in-person session takes place at your home or office, and all other sessions are hosted online via Zoom.
-
Travel in and around North Surrey and some areas of London, Greater London and Kent are available depending on availability.
I am considering a “Set the Scene” UK ‘tour’ at some stage, but in general, if you’re based outside of the above areas, I offer online alternatives.
Please get in touch for more information.

Whilst Holistic Video Confidence is a ‘done-with-you’ coaching service, there are times when you might prefer to have a professional production company handle larger scale projects for you.
For example, if you’d like to showcase the way you work with others during an in-person group workshop, or have interviews and testimonials with clients filmed and edited together into promotional videos.
If you’d be interested in getting a professional video made for your business, I offer this as a separate service through my production company. Please get in touch for more information.
